As most of you already know, 3 months passed since Guru Gaming got its own League of Legends squad. This news has been postponed because the team was still going through some lineup changes so we decided to wait until everything is ready. And now we proudly present our LoL team!

Let’s start with few words about how the Guru Gaming LoL team came into being. Two school colleagues from Vinkovci, “CroAssasin” and “DacoCro”, set out in search of 3 more players with the goal to form a serious competition team in June 2011. 3 months later, with 4 new players, one of whom was “Mrkiii”, they formed “Rape Pillage and Burn” and immediately achieved their first major success by winning the Croatian EMS qualification tournament. However, the team didn’t last in that formation and with the lack of Croatian players serious enough, “nigelf” (Finland) and “Ror0noa” (Macedonia) joined the team thus forming a lineup that would last a couple of months: “CroAssasin” (jungle), “DacoCro” (support), “Mrkiii” (mid), “nigelf” (top) and “Ror0noa” (AD carry). The change pays of and the results speak for themselves, 2 consecutive wins on ESL Go4LoL tournaments (#62 and #63).

For those less familiar with the League of Legends scene, Go4LoL is an ESL series of weekly cups with cash and ingame prizes. It takes place every Sunday and well over 100 European teams participate every week. Apart from cash and Riot Points rewards, the most successful 8 teams qualify for Go4loL Monthly Finals and have a chance to win even more every month.

Just a day after their second Go4LoL win, negotiations between Guru Gaming and RBP were finished as they decided to join our community. Once a stable lineup was established, the whole deal would be officially announced. Although with no regular practice matches, the team continues with the impressive results, yet another win and a podium finish in Go4LoL tournaments. The 2 international events that soon followed produced even better results as they successfully qualify for the ESL Major Series IX groupstage and took their place among 24 of Europe’s finest teams. Although with low expectations and little preparation, beating “SK Gaming” almost got them in the playoffs. The team also made their way to the Intel Extreme Masters Kiev Final Qualifier where they managed to surprise the field by beating “Team Empire”  early on in the tournament. “SK Gaming” proved too tough after which they were defeated in the losers bracket by the same “Team Empire” they managed to beat before. “Team Empire” now known as “Moscow Five” went all the way and eventually won IEM Kiev.

In that period “I Always Suck”, another Croatian allaround player joined the team as a regular backup for any position due to his versatility. Good results aside, regular practice matches were still a big issue as schedules were hard to synchronize and some members had “more importat” things to do. After few weeks of struggling with the situation, the team decided to resolve the problem and pull itself back together. As a result,  ”Ror0noa” left the team.

The outcome proved to be a good thing in the end as daily practice games were no longer a problem. Although there was some concern due to the fact that some players had to change their positions, everything fell into place almost instantly. “nigelf” took on the AD carry role, “I Aways Suck” switched to top while the others remained on their previous positions, “Mrkiii” mid, “CroAssasin” jungle and “DacoCro” support. A lineup in which they finally began to shine as a team and we hope to see them in it in many games to come. The team immediately finished second int their first Go4LoL with the new lineup. A week later they confirmed their place among the top European teams by beating “exGBT” in the finals and wining their fourth Go4LoL.

Recent but sweet events also worth mentioning are the Croatian ESL Cro4LoL tournaments that take place twice a month and also offer ingame prizes to the best 4 teams. So far 6 cups have been organized and the Gurus are still undefeated having won all of them.

We would like to welcome the guys to the Guru Gaming family and hope they will successfully continue representing both the clan and our country in various events and competitions.

We would also like to invite everyone interested to follow our LoL team in their quest so be sure to check them out in action in one of numerous streams on Guru Gaming TV. I sada napokon ponosno predstavljamo našu LoL ekipu!

No, ekipa u toj postavi nije dugo trajala te gore navedena trojka u nedostatku ozbiljnih hrvatskih igrača odlučuje posljednja 2 mjesta popuniti strancima.

Iako bez redovnih treninga, ekipa kroz naredna 2 mjeseca nastavlja ostvarivati odlične rezultate.
